Samsun was a British rock band formed in early 1969, featuring members Kevin Parrot, Brian McGladdery, Roger Tweedale, Gary McDougall, and Tony Bamforth. Following a series of international performances, the band drew the interest of producers Geoff Gill, Wil Malone, and Cliff Wade. They went on to record a full-length album at Morgan Studios, although only three tracks were originally released in the UK and the Netherlands. The group eventually reinvented themselves under the name Oscar.
More than fifty years later, in 2024, the full album finally saw an official release. It offers a rich snapshot of the British pop-rock sound of the late 60s and early 70s, with melodic songwriting and a fusion of folk-rock and psychedelic influences that capture the creative spirit of Morgan Studios during that time.
