The first member of Pink Floyd to release a solo album, David Gilmour´s self-titled 1978 record was met with largely positive reviews and reasonable success, reaching a respectable No.17 on the UK album chart. Fast forward 6 years and it was time for album No. 2, the highly regarded About Face, which was released on March 5th, 1984 with lyrics to two cuts by Pete Townsend, and featuring a sublime roster of musicians which included Steve Winwood, Jeff Porcaro, Anne Dudley, Jon Lord and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Within a month of its release, Gilmour and his band set out on the road to tour the album, a jaunt which lasted from March 31st to July 16th 1984, covering the UK, Europe, and North America. This recording broadcast live on April 24th from the Johanneshovs Isstadion in Stockholm, Sweden captures the spirit of the show better than any other performance throughout the tour, and has gone on to become a firm favourite amongst fans.
