Damanek is a progressive rock project led by British multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Guy Manning, alongside keyboardist Sean Timms and saxophonist Marek Arnold. Their third studio album, Making Shore, released on January 13, 2023, showcases the band's blend of '70s prog influences with contemporary elements.
The album is divided into two parts:
Part One features seven standalone tracks addressing socio-political and environmental themes, such as climate change and mental health. Notably, "In Deep Blue" draws inspiration from Manning's personal experience with his son's scuba diving journey.
Part Two comprises the five-part suite "Oculus," a 30-minute epic exploring themes of alternate realities and self-discovery.
