Jasper was a short-lived British rock band formed in the late 1960s. Known for their experimental blend of psychedelic rock, progressive blues, and jazz influences, the group brought together skilled musicianship and ambitious arrangements. Despite their talent and originality, Jasper released only one album before disbanding.
Their sole album, Liberation, was released in 1969 on the UK label Spark. The record showcases the band's eclectic style, combining traditional blues covers with original compositions and extended instrumental passages. It features prominent guitar work, organ, flute, and occasional harpsichord, creating a textured and immersive soundscape typical of the progressive underground scene of the time.
Liberation is now considered a rare gem among collectors of obscure British psychedelic and progressive rock. Its mix of intensity and musical exploration captures the spirit of the late '60s counterculture, even if it never reached mainstream recognition.
