Thelonious in Action is a 1958 live album by jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, featuring tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin, drummer Roy Haynes and bassist Ahmed Abdul-Malik. The album was recorded live at the Five Spot Café in the Bowery neighborhood of Manhattan on August 7, 1958, at the same sessions that produced his album Misterioso. It features the debuts of Monks compositions Light Blue and Coming on the Hudson. The Rolling Stone Jazz Record Guide rated the session with 5 stars.
